PART DESCRIPTION
This is the factory replacement latch assembly situated in front of the S80's center armrest with two dark grey push buttons that open the console lid & storage box. Two directional arrows are printed on the face, & they usually rub off over time.
Before ordering a new mechanism, please note that for many (if not most) of these cars with an inoperable console flip-door, the fragile piece which sits below this part is already broken (and it is generally not worth fixing, unfortunately). So, replacing your button set works for aesthetic reasons (sometimes they are entirely missing from the car), but it still may not stay down & release properly - especially if you look below your button kit & see broken plastic bits. If unsure what you need, you can send us pictures of your broken console.
