Is your key tumbler stuck & not turning? We can supply a factory replacement lock cylinder that comes pre-keyed to your car, and won't require any software download from Volvo.

A used lock cylinder wouldn't work, because not only would the keys not match, but because Volvo's keys have the car's serial number coded on a chip inside of the rubber end piece.

With a new lock, you will be able to re-use your old key. It's important that you still have one, because if you don't, a new matching key - purchased from a dealer - will cost more than the new lock costs, as it will also require a software download, if you ever want to use it to actually start the car...

The new lock does come with a 'dummy' key that will open the doors and turn and spin the motor over but will not start the car, because there is no rubber end on it and no chip for the anti-theft system to recognize, so it disables the ignition. You must have the original key, or get another from a dealer.
