The XC90's yaw rate sensor sits under the front passenger's seat (below the speaker amplifier) & serves a valuable purpose as it senses the rate of turn and keeps the anti-skid system engaged, maintaining 'active yaw control'. When your old unit is bad, it trips an "Anti Skid Service Required" message on the dash, & the car loses DSTC (Dynamic Stability Traction Control) capability.

These are a very hard thing to find used, as they can only come off of XC90 parts cars, and are often corroded from water drainage coming down from the sunroof.

This a part that's worth replacing yourself. The process entails disconnecting the battery, unbolting the seat, the amp below it, & then the sensor from its bracket. If there's water down there (you may run into wet carpets or even a small lake), you will want to take care of that & then un-clog your sunroof drains, so it doesn't keep happening. Swap out the unit & put it all back together. Drive the car around the block & with luck, the Anti-Skid Service Required message is gone. Finally, to re-engage the DSTC, bring the car in to a dealer or any independent garage with a scanner to complete a calibration.
